hi, so this is a well over due post! as some of you may agree!
well a few personal notes for you.
hi gus, sorry i didn't get your message in time as i am rarely on the internet now, sorry. Hope you have a good as summer tho and if you're ever in dunedin in the future give me a text, i'll be living here for a while now cuz i've got a job here.
nam and kerryn, hey girls, you rock, even when i don't post you leave messages, hopefully this will keep you going for a little while!
i can't remember how far back i was supposed to be posting for, i don't think i ever actually put any pictures up from my mid semester holiday yet, maybe i'll put some up one day.
but i'll start with just before simply ceroc. two days before we left it was a wednesday and i had a stats exam, horrible i know but the next day was great, i went into my new job for the first time and was payed to have a one on one personal pilates session with a very experienced instructor and an hour long massage, good job huh? well it was that day but now i'm the one giving the massages and teaching people pilates rather than receiving them. i am really enjoying it tho, very much so! although i left my keys at work today, opps, luckily i know where my spares are until i can run back in in the morning. and it probably will be running as my car keys are also locked in at work, lol, i guess i had to have a blunder with keys at some stage!
then friday brought simply ceroc, it was awesome, there was a big meet and greet dance party on friday night but i didnt actually go as john and i were catching up with some of his other friends in welly.
saturday brought lots more dancing tho, after meeting up with my fantastic cousin jean in welly and going out for breaky i went up to the workshop venue, the te whaea performing arts centre in newtown, and my first workshop was LSD (lifts, seducers, and drops) by mark and christine mclean. lots and lots of fun. then after that i had a latin flavour workshop by snaiet shalav and fill in simon. a guy called paul robinson was supposed to take it with snaiet but he was ill or something like that so simon filled in at about 2 days notice. that was also very fun.
then saturday night brought the showcase spectacular, a selection of dance presentations from ceroc dancer all over NZ and australia, i performed in two of these routines, the first one i did was to elvis presleys 'fever' and was a group routine with 6 people, or 3 couples. the next one that i did was the hard one, it was an advanced routine to a song called xiote by a group called bond and i performed it with john, john and a girl called rachel in kaka point choreographed it but rachel couldn't be in welly so i performed it for her, so much fun!!!
then came sunday and more workshops, the first one i did on the sun was a beginner workshop on musical interpretation by adam nathanson, and was not as much a beginner workshop but a workshop that used beginner moves to illustrate intermediate / advanced concepts of musical interpretation and timing. then i did another workshop called baby DDA (dips, drops and aerials) by brendon roache, again lots of fun, some a little scary but fun none the less.
there was other workshops on during the weekend but my parents came down from palmy to see me so i spent sunday afternoon with them and went to a baby italian restaurant for dinner and it was so nice.
sunday night brought the grand ball. it was really fun, i even had a new ball dress for it! and loved it. the venue wasn't quite so great, the dance floor was great but not much sitting space and really bad acoustics, but it looked very grand, it was held at the great hall in the old museum.
monday morning brought the farewell brunch and hometime, it was an exhausting weekend but i would definately do it all over again! i loved every minute of it!
and after simply ceroc was over it was back to work for me, 8-5 monday - friday, its actually crazy how different working is from studying, but i love it.
my next big news is my graduation, i am graduating on wednesday next week and my parents are coming down for it, yay!
they are then going camping and climbing and stuff while i have my last weekend of 2006 in dunedin, then we're all going back home to palmy for christmas.
in my last weekend in dunedin it is both my work end of year function and the ceroc christmas party, should be tons of fun, i'll fill you in with photos and the like after it has happened.
oh yea there was also a big train trip between simply ceroc and now and photos will definately come soon!
take care my loves.
