i now have two of my residents. the rest are coming in tomorrow and sunday.
we have all our RA's here now and there are some interesting people arriving. it was a little touch and go at one stage as one of our RA's had his passport stolen and got stuck in asia somewhere with no way of getting back.
giving you the down low on the ra team, first up are the seniors, teekay and yi tian. teekay is a full of energy always talking, singing and laughing and yi tian is more of a quiet kind who never has a bad word to say about anybody. then theres justin and nicole who are returing ra's, justin is a canadian exchange student and pulls out the funny jokes when no one is expecting it but is generally quite quiet, where nicole is an opera singer and very bubbly and fun to be around. then lastly there is tp, tim, chris and myself. tp is a little guy a bit smaller than me but knows how to stand his ground and is a bus driver in the weekends. tim is a typical auckland boy studying law and commerce but it good value for fun and laughter. chris is an asian that doesn't understand or speak english as well as the others but speaks 4-5 other languages also so is quite good with being able to help our international students. and thats the whole team. we all get along really well which is really good but i guess we'll have our disputes as time goes on, large groups of people living together generally has that effect.
tonight is our last night before the first years all come and we are going out as a team to have teppanyaki of dinner at tokyo gardens which should be tasty and as i've never had teppanyaki before i have no idea what to expect.
bye now.

so after a fantastic summer and a very rushed weekend i have returned to the world of blogging. this will just be a short intro note and then i will get back into the regular blogs when i have my computer set up again hopefully next week.
well where to start?
i'm an ra in a hall of residence this year while i study which means that i'm a residents assistant, or senior student to help the first year residents to settle in and get used to life in dunedin. the hall i am at is the smallest fully catered hall in dunedin and also the fartherest from the uni, however we do have the best view. i sat and ate my breakfast today looking out over the main bulk of the city, and from where i was i could also see the harbour and the beach and ocean. its very mesmerising just watching views like that and at night it can be even more amazing. i will endevour to have some pictures available shortly.
until then.
take care.
